A project by the University of Southern California studying cancer in the Korean-American community.

Korean Americans

have the highest gastric cancer risk in the United States. When compared to whites, Korean Americans are 5 times more likely to get gastric cancer.

Our Mission

Researchers at University of Southern California are collaborating with Koreatown Senior & Community Center to study two known risk factors for gastric cancer in the Korean community: Helicobacter pylori (bacteria) infection and smoking (active and passive).
